Leadership needs to ensure that staff feel safe about making suggestions, any of the methods used suggest changes. Perhaps you may want to use anonymous surveys to gather early feedback. After a few suggestions that act on, the staff will feel like the leaders really want good ideas and will make them feel safe in mind. Perhaps you may want to use a consultant in Lean Health (many ideas I recommend that this came directly from the Lean Healthcare) to teach the principles of Lean and the staff of the Health and the other as a means of May seems to match. This approach will help organizations create great start many positive changes quickly, using the idea of how to change slowly spread throughout the organization, as some want.
Whatever the initial process of getting ideas percolating in the organization, after some ideas for improvement of quality recommended by the soldiers and successfully implemented after the savings and improvements to be made known in the organization, it is time to create a way to get an idea. You may want to have regular meetings with the leaders and the appointed representatives of some local staff who will convey ideas. That means that all staff should feel comfortable in making this suggestion to the team members. If your site has a few employees, then it will probably remain there for a meeting with all staff employees in the agenda which always include time for quality improvement and ideas for the update on the projects that are underway. Whatever method you decide is best for your site, make sure that the atmosphere of safety and security for all existing staff. This may mean going round to ensure that no staff will lose their positions as there are improvements to create more time to get the problem.
So, once you have a steady flow of quality ideas generated by all in the organization, which should you act on? Next month, Ill address that issue. This issue I decided to concentrate on Setting Six Sigmas step DMAIC (define, measure, act, to improve the control). Next, I will discuss the size of the segment. Day after tomorrow Ill also cover the dynamics of the team.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
